Intermittent heater problem

Anyone had any issues with the heating system playing up. Mine will either blow red hot air to the footwell only or cold air all round no matter what temp or blower combo you use. It also affects the heated seats.

I'm wondering if the box of wires under the drivers seat and me and my wife moving the seat forward and back are the problem?

Any thoughts??
