Hello All,
I thought I would share with you my experience with Warranty Direct.
I bought a D3 in Dec 2014. It was a Bad buy in terms of how bad the D3 had been sold.
After returning it to the seller to fix – 3 months later I was returned my 2007 D3 GS.
I had a mileage of 97000 – Recently Passed MOT and had a service.
I rang Warranty Direct (WD) for a Quote. After researching I knew what I wanted:
1. Extra Care Policy – Covers Almost everything
2. £50 Excess
3. Betterment Removed (Betterment = You pay % of the parts). It’s a ‘sales guy’ back pocket trick.
4. 12,000 miles of cover
5. 12 months cover (plus 1 month FREE)

My quote was for £765 paid in 4 instalments – My wife went mental!

Then I'll give them a call in the AM to sort my knocking front lower arms that have been bugging me for a month or so!!!

So hypothetically speaking... if one were knowing there was a few serious issues with their D3 such as a gearbox needing a rebuild or similar you could get a policy with warranty direct. Leave it a month or 2 and then make a claim to get it fixed at a fraction of the cost ? I know its fraud but it doesn't half sound like a cheap way of fixing up a lemon for those unscrupulous types out there. Jarrod

May want to check your policy...
If it does cover it: Take it to Halfords Autocenter ... They are doing Free Suspension checks ... WD pay Halfords thm directly so you do not need to get a refund!

There is a 90 days exclusion for w&t claims if not coming from another warranty.

And wear and tear is an addition to the policy, it is not automatically covered for wear and tear My D3 Build Thread

It was a LR replacement so brand new. Thought after bedding in it would benifit from a change of oil?2016 D4 Landmark

Great post , I am negotiating a deal on Saturday and this betterment clause will defo be gone now , I think they also got 2 extra month at the moment or is that warranty wise hmmm , I been a bit of a slag ringing them up for deals iforget but defo WD best on phone so looking to deal with them on my 59 with 65000 on the clock FSH and Belts will be done shortly
Anyone think the £700 mark is where I need to be ?
