Manual Seat Adjustment Losing Height Setting

I thought I was going mad at first, but my drivers seat in my Manual Seat XS model is definately losing the height setting.

I'll pump it up a couple of times whilst in the car, I've not noticed it dropping while driving but just may not have noticed. If left unoccupied and parked for a while the steat seems to revert back to the lowest position Shocked

I'm also not criminally obese (approx 14 stone) so don't believe it just can't take my weight Shocked

Any one else had the same issue?

What could be causing it?

All the manual seats do this if you knock the handle with your bum on the way in or out. Land Rover's fix is :-

yes - sticky backed plastic!

Your dealer can supply - but it only works until it gets knocked off. Some folk jam the handle up with a bit of wood.

Thanks for the reply Navigator.

I think the design is slightly different on the D4, seems maybe a bit hard to bump it, but that may be the case.

I checked it was still up after getting out of the car this morning and I'll check before getting back in tonight, that should tell for sure.

Ha, don't think much of the "fix" Shocked Think would rather just check and adjust each time if that's the best LR can come up with Very Happy

I think all the bit of foam does is draw my attention to not sliding onto the seat. So next time it falls off it's not going back - I'll fix on a red sticker instead and see how well that works.

I do have side steps and they do help with not having to "dreep" when getting out.

I have had this problem with my seat. Gone back so many times now. They replaced the base, now they are goign to replace the height thing.

Such a annoying issue, lets hope they get it right now!

JUST SAW THIs while looking for info on D4 heated seats, and although i am a bit late with a response - i had same problem on Disco 3. LR eventually replaced it with a motorised height adjustment. it is a known problem with the hydraulic actuators. I am sure the D4 qualifies for replacement too. You just have to ask the right question.

It is a safety issue if the seat were to collapse completely and you are distracted.
