Crank Bolt

Underway with the rebuild on the motor now, currently wrestling the starter out, has anyone managed to get it out without removing the cables? Censored

Can the crank bolt (part number LR002458) be reused?

Don’t try to remove it, just move it out of the way. Unbolt the oil cooler and move that first.

Do not reuse the crank bolt. They are cheap as chips from LR....make sure you do it up to the correct torque.

Golden rule: never re use “stretch bolts” (=xx Nm + xx degrees)

And a lot of other LR engine bolts are made of cheese, so if possible buy/use new..

New crank bolt on order! Slowed things down slightly but I don't really want to do this job again...

Starter is out of the way, the only way I could was to remove the power lead.
