In the settings menu there is a feature called Lazy enty, what is it? All I can find in the hand book is how to turn it on and off.

I discovered that the lazy entry has nothing to do with the memory seat position numbers. I had incorrectly assumed that keys 1 & 2 would automatically relate to position 1 & 2 on the memory buttons, but they do not.
The correct way to set is to position your seat and mirrors, then press MEM, then 1 (2 or 3). This will bind the setting to the particular key in the ignition.
This is fine, and the key will match the mem number. HOWEVER, if you subsequently adjust the seat position, while you are driving, and memorise it, it does not update the key.
I had the situation the other day when I opened the car with key 1 (my key) and the seat felt to upright. I pressed 1 on the seat panel and it adjusted to my comfort position.
I also find that if key 2 is used, it sets itself for the wife, but ONLY button 2 registers on the seat panel. If I want to drive the car with the wifes key, I cannot use position 1.
If my wife uses key 1 (mine), she CAN press button 2 and it sets her position.
Its a bit complex this, but I think there could be a bug in the system somewhere.

Gareth: I think this is why my mirrors keep resetting to different locations; even though I have the seat and mirrors set at "1," and I use the 1 key, I probably memorized the mirror location while the vehicle was on... And thus every time I use the 1 key they move out of alignment. Thanks for figuring that one out!  '05 LR3 HSE
