Aircon intermittently switching itself off |
|
Hi there, in the recent cold weather, have noticed the aircon has obviously deactivated as it started steaming up inside the car a couple of times. Seemed to be overridden by switching the "off" button on and off; wondered if there was some sort of function that would disable the aircon compressor when cold or are there gremlins afoot?? Thanks for any advice

From my understanding, we do not have aircon in the discovery but rather "Climate Control".
I always leave my heater set at Auto and work the temprature from here. I believe climate control then automatically adjusts the temp up or down to keep a consistant cabin temp. ATB

You're quite correct about the climate control; what I meant really was the aircon pump disengaging whilst in use so as to cause misting up in the cabin... Wondered if the cold temperature could cause this

I find with mine that once the cabin has got up to temperature the system slows the fans right down. If it's a bit damp in the car then or when it's cold I get some misting up.
I just turn the fan back up and all is fine.

I find the same. If i get in the car with a wet jacket on, then it tends to mist up on the inside. Otherwise, it usually sorts its self out whilst driving back from wherever. ATB
