| Windscreen vents not working |

When the air is set for the upper vents, both on the left-hand located switch or the programmed setting (plus heated windscreen), nothing comes out even if the fan is set to the highest speed. It seems that the damper that I assume moves to direct air to the chosen places by the heating system might not be opening to the vents at the top of the dashboard at the bottom of the windscreen as the air sounds as if it is being blocked and cant go anywhere. I cant therefore get air blowing onto the windscreen to clear it. Any ideas?

Okay, so no answers... does anyone know where:
1. the fan, and
2. the dampers that control the airflow
are behind the dashboard? I'm going to try to fine the fault myself but behing acres of dash I'd like to know where I'm going, and dont want to break any more dash parts than I need to
