Halfords battery dead-is Bosch a good replacement?
My halfords battery is dead and being replaced on warranty. Thinking of paying extra £10 and getting Bosch Silver. Worth doing? Its 830A.

'GoatOfMendez' had a good point the other day, if that 830A CCA is measured by the 'EN' method which I suspect it is, than that is equivalent to about 900A CCA measured the 'SAE ' method. (The latest LR battery is as said above, 950A measured the 'SAE' method), so the Bosch battery falls a little short, but may still do the job.

Bizarrely the cheapest replacement i could fined was the local dealer: £95.00.
Not sure how that compares but it dug me out of a hole.

It is 830 Amps-EN so not a million miles off. It was being replaced on warranty and this was the best they had. Guess I'll see what happens
One thing they have forgotten to do when fitting it was plug the vent hole at the opposite end to the vent tube Guess I'd better get that fixed.

Mine is a bosch with a CCA of 800. It was fine until temp went below -5. To be fair it hasn't let me down yet but its touch and go most mornings at the moment
