accelerator not working.

England 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 7 Seat Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3
accelerator not working.

Can anyone advise why my throttle does not work properly.
It is as if it is not working with the engine.
You can sit there with it pressed down and not go anywhere, then it will eventually build some revs up and slowly pull away, then suddenly it will give lots of throttle.
