The 3 wire one is the connector for the receiver

The 2 wire one with a grommet is for TPMS .. The wiring is standard on all models

You would need to buy the correct D4 receiver and keyfob .. You can't use a generic one

Thanks so much for replying Wiggs. Would you happen to know what each wire does on the 3 cable receiver plug? Should there be another connector to look for iaw Bodsy's post above. I can't see one.

You only need the 3 wire plug for the timed climate receiver .

You also need an antenna which would plug in the receiver as well

I hope to fit a generic remote control which I already have. It needs a 12 volt supply (which is easy) and has a simple switched relay inside which can be set to toggle between open and closed or set to close only for the duration the remote button is pressed. I need to find out what the switching requirement is for the FBH and what each of the 3 wires at the connector is for. I don't want to randomly wire something up in the off chance it will work and end up frying the FBH controller. Access to a schematic of the FBH wiring is what I need.

Thanks for your help.

It sounds like you are assuming it is simple to switch on the fbh.

It needs a controller like the Bellautos fbhic or the LR controller.

It is probably worth reading the FBH wiki and some of numerous threads on the subject but in essence there is nothing on the FBH that responds to a simple open/close switch. It can only be triggered by a BUS data command. If you could just switch it on we would have all done that 10 years ago.

Buy a proper kit and get it enabled.

Thanks Wiggs. Sorry to be a pest but any chance of a higher resolution image of the wiring diagrams. They are a bit blurred.

Pin 2 is the W-BUS protocol line.

I am a bit confused as to the aerial configuration for the FBH remote. I have been supplied with a receiver and an aerial lead (p/n LR030286) which is about three feet long and has a coax connector at each end. This implies that it connects to an existing aerial already fitted to the car (I had assumed on the o/s rear window). I have pulled back the headlining hoping to find an obvious connector onto which I would connect my aerial lead but apart from the am/fm aerial I can't find anything resembling the FBH remote aerial to connect to.

Thanks for any help.

Ref my post above, I was expecting to find an unused one of these behind the headline.
