Engine management warning light, but feels ok

Hi
08 with 65k miles and on the way to work this morning the EML came on.

Car feels fine, doesn't seem like the performance is reduced, but I guessing it's the dreaded EGRs failing.

Suppose I need the codes read, will need to drop it at TVLR sometime soon

Funny you should post this, had the exact same thing happen over the weekend... no loss of power, no obvious issues, but the EML on permanently now. Mine's an '07 with 96k on the clock, and I'm led to believe I shouldn't have this come on with an EGR failure. Sad

Sorry I can't help though...

Will give them a ring later in the week as I am away for work tomorrow.

Anyone know what the approx cost is if its the EGRs? (2008 so cant as yet blank the blighters)

I think you may be just in time, and you can blank them. BAS has (I think) just released some emulators that fool the ECU that they are working correctly.

just fitted left side egr valve to my 07 disco, on saturday what a pig to do! Exclamation
fitted the right side last May, still very difficult. prior to this i did run the car with the eml on, if a egr
is stuck shut then no loss of power. if eml valves are stuck open then you get low power and poor
fuel economy. so no need to panic as yet. Thumbs Up mine has only 37000 miles since new.
trouble is you never know when these pieces of crap jamb up.
