i have been looing at some accesories and would like to know if i am loosing the plot to even consider this!!!

There must be a ban on things looking like that in a National Park. I wouldnt come into Kendal with the mod if your D3 is black. Your Disco looks good as it is !

If you're handy with a Black and Decker, why not have a go at your grille and post the results? In Australia, shops used to sell a spray paint that was called 'Chromebright' that gave the appearance of chrome plating. That would go handy with the drilled effect.
But I bet you haven't even considered those options. <g>

* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Ive always wondered about the holes in the RRS grille. I heard someone told LR's if you increase airflow into the engine it improves performance. so they did 2004 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver
