Dealer experience requested for Farnells in Bradford |
|
Can anyone tell me of their experiences with Farnell in Bradford as a dealer?
I have booked my D3 in with them to resolve multiple EPB issues as I am getting to the end of my tether with it. (see below). I am hoping they can resolve the issues otherwise I will be tempted after 25 years of land rover ownership to get shut as its just not worth the stress and anguish!! (I've not even mentioned my clutch problems!!
Any feedback or reassurance on them welcome
once the car has done its system check once the ignition key is turned and the EPB fault is reported and it won't release. If I turn off the ignition, let it go to sleep and then re-turn the key I can disengage the EPB before the system check reports a fault and stops me releasing it. On some occasions this has not worked .
The other issue is a flashing red brake warning light on the dash even when the car has gone to sleep - overnight all night day after day. I can't seem to find any reference to this in the manual? Today is is not flashing, tomorrow it may be. As I understand it there should be no power to the ECU to enable this light to flash once the car has gone to sleep. As a case study when I parked the car at 4 pm the dash was 'asleep' with no illuminated warnings. Two hours later I looked through the car window and the red brake warning light was flashing, now 9 hours later the light is still flashing and will be until I start the car.

I bought my D3 from them, as they had the right car at a great price.
However, the only experience I have of their workshop is that the fog lamp wiring was shorted out behind the front bumper (which is a common fault), and this hadn't been spotted at PDI.
I would really recommend you ask site sponsor 10forcash to look at it. He's not far from you in Derby and is really expert at maintaining D3s! http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/member179.html

When you say Bradford, sorry, do you mean Farnells at LS20; Guiseley?
I live a couple of miles away and always found Farnells to be a typical dealership, take that as you will
I've heard very good things about Guy Salmon, Wakefield from the previous owners of the D3 I now own so I'll be using them, but only to maintain my FLRSH.
I spoke to Iain, 10forcash, this morning and he's due to me at the end of January to install rear dvd headrests.
I was going to have him come to south yorkshire where I presently work but if you intend to use him it would make sense for him to come to both of us the same day in West Yorkshire, easier for him and we would benefit from dividing his travel costs, if there was any for two jobs/a recommendation.
