Has anyone extended the fuse holder wires so that it can be positioned in a more convenient place?

Not done it yet pal but might be a good alteration for the future. What we could do with is access to the led on the gsm as you cant see what status it is. Think mine locked out this morning (I.E. the led went red?) Might of caused a fault when I started the engine while the fbh and fans were still running? The odd time the led went red while installing I found you had to phone the gsm unit again to clear it as if you were switching it off. This in turn sent the led back to flashing green. Obviously cant see to led to confirm now as the gsm unit is next to the blowers on the dash.
Anyhow under test at moment.

What I found was if you are to close to the GSM with your phone when you ring it, it will always lock up and stay solid red, just make sure your not to close when you fire it up.

Cheers Flack will do.
Any idea where abouts you temp gauge should be say after 30mins of the fbh? It was Zero degrees when i left work and the fbh had been running for 30 mins with low fans but temp gauge when i started the engine was only just above the blue marker although it warmed up much faster. The cabin temp was mildly warm? Also got the additional problem that my fbh doesnt always keep going. It sometimes pumps smoke out but then just fails as its about to really set in? Can you not get these units overhauled? Obviously the software works its just a matter of getting the balance right.

Yes, it's a fine balance.
I tried 30 min no fans I got about 1 quarter, same with 20 fans a bit fast, just at or below blue, now fans are quite low I get the needle at the beginning of the white line or slightly above.
But in all of the above no wait for the glow light to go out when starting.

I want to connect a webasto timer 1533 to the gsm-remote control. Do I connect pin 1 w-bus on the webasto timer to the green wire of the gsm-remote control, pin 3 to +VE 12volt and pin 4 to -VE / Earth ?

As for the red led. My thought was that it fails if you try to start/phone the fbh when it's time has just ended but it is still shutting down, the red led comes on. when you try a few minutes later, it will work.
I am not aware of my being further from the car on my second attempt.
By now I have found out that the fbh stops exactly after 30 minutes, even with the gsm timer set to longer.
Could it be a fixed setting in the fbh itself?

Yes it seems that some FBH will only run to a set 30 mins, and Daniel from Danhag has also mentioned this on the board.
There was some software knocking about that let you get in to the FBH, I think wiggs has a copy of it, might be worth trying to get hold of this bit of software and see if you can change any of the settings.
But I think its a set at the time of build so you may not be able to alter it.
I found that if I was sat in my car when I called the GSM it would fail and show a hard on red LED, if I call it out of the car even just in front of the bonnet it will work everytime.
I have noticed with mine that the temp gauge is never the same even at lower temps, I have mine set up and it seems to be the happy medium so will leave it where it is.
I went out to my car this morning and after 30 mins it was just below half way on the guage, will check it tomorrow morning as its freezing here now so should be a good comparison check...

The green wire just requires a 12 volt live to fire it up so I would think you just need the 12v feed out of the timer to start the GSm. but I may be talking crap.

Which pin on the webasto timer gives 12v feed out when it fires up? I thought pin 1 did that.

I believe that what we need is the "OUT" output, which is Pin 2. Pin 1 is the "W-BUS" output.
My understanding is that for normal FBH operation, the "W-BUS" works to fire up modern FBH's, but the "OUT" works on older FBH's. So that would suggest to me that for this system we need to connect pins 3 and 4 to +ve and -ve, and pin 2 to the famous green wire.
But if anyone knows for sure, I'd welcome confirmation that this is correct! 2001 D2 GS (I must be mad!)
