has anyone had any problems with there disco black smoking

All diesels smoke to some extent can you explain in a little more detail

well when you boot it there is a constant black smoke out the rear of the vehicle and you can also notice this in your mirrors

Does posting this twice mean you can see it in both your mirrors?? Laughing

Seriously, if it is smoking that much, I suggest a trip to the dealers without pressing the pedal too hard. Or, stop buying very cheap fuel..... Wink

Simon - my smoking was rectified by the enhancement programme. Now it is like all the others and does put out an acceptable amount of the black particulates - which dirty the back of the car; glad I didn't get a white D3.

Have you had the enhancement yet?

Also you could try different supplier for your diesel as I believe that may make a difference if what you're currently using is not the ultra low sulphur content kind.

* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

sounds like a latent problem with the EGR system, either that or your dealer has 'chipped' you as a freebie while your disco3 was in Shocked
