I managed to push it back into place but it is now loose at the bottom and I'm worried that it will do it again Has anybody had this problem and know how to fix it

Go to your dealers and let them sort it out, sounds like the clips are broken or not fitted correctly The End

This happened to me a few times, scares the s**t out of you everytime as it seems to be when i'm doing 100km/h + and when a truck passes in the opposite direction. The reason is broken clips, i have had my windscreen replaced so that the reason for the broken clips. Clips have been replaced and have not had a problem since. D4 TDV6 MY13' - 2 weeks away!

Yep - same thing happened to me after having the windscreen replaced. It is important to get a new set of clips otherwise they will continue to come loose. Must have stopped about 10 times on the way down to the cotswolds at the weekend - V annoying in a 4 month old car. 06 Bonatti Grey HSE, Ebony Interior with Privacy Glass & Rubbing Strips.

LR specify new clips whenever the A pillar trim is removed.

I havent had the beast come off (as yet) however I had a big problem with water leaks on the near side front which turned out to be the sunroof drain tube.Since the repair I have a heavy resinence noise at 70mph+ the noise is coming from the A pillar area has anyone else had the same problem following screen replacements or water leak problems? I've been trying to get LR to replace the cover on my nearside for about a year! The plastic of the cover that holds the clip is broken.
Now a year on, I've noticed that the cover rubs against the corner of the bonnet, and has worn through the paint Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

so why is the dealer not fixing under warranty ??? If the clips are broken they are replaced under warranty.... simple as that.
If they don't get another dealer to do it or call LRCA and have them call the dealer.

It's never been the most pressing problem - till Im noticed the paint rubbing. Thus I've not been "on their case". The cover is currently on order.
Have every confidence they'll now fix it.
... Err another dealer??? this is the wilds of Cornwall!
Reason for sharing this information is simply to warn others that a simple broken clip can result in paint damage!

Yup -happened to ours Dec 04 just after delivery & had to wait 1 month for new bits. Now they are secured with some sticky stuff as well as clips. I wondered at the time whether the retaining holes in the 'A' post had been made oversize as the clips were not broken.
Scary when it happens isn't it Richard

WONDER if they have had a clips problem overall as it seems clips where so bad in the roof bar protector that when I went into the car wash with a one week old car the metal protector strip was ripped away by the pressure and it caused much damage. But to their discredit it took a large fight with LR and the dealer (who is a waste of space here in Finland) to get it resolved.

Must be an A1 thing, about 12 days ago I saw a silver D3 with a roof box going the other way (peterborough vicinity) with the same trim flapping around. Zermatt silver 06 reg.
