i blanked my 7A VIN 2007 TDV6 on sunday and i can confirm that every few km it goes in limp mode
lowers the suspensions, error on the dash and gearbox locked

a real nightmare
i've got the interface to clear error codes but if i can't sort out the issue quickly i must restore the EGRs

i've found the intakes fully painted of tar

Filippo

I think you have oil in there not tar, and that would be coming
from the turbo seal.

Just a question, in what month did you purchase your D3 in
2007 ?

Filippo send me over your file from your interface. I'll take a peep and see if I can make you a test file.

Any news yet Filippo/Pete?

I read on other TD forums that they drill a 6mm hole in the blanking plate and this successfully bull Censored s the ECU in thinking that there is still exhaust gas coming through. This however will not sort out a failing EGR valve - so I think.... Confused

Aah HA!!

If we could just find the correct pins on the Disco's ECU, this could solve our EGR blanking issues... Twisted Evil

I blanked my 7A VIN (November 2006 production) last week. About 1000 км experience. There is no even check engine note.
Butterfly valve is still at the site as there is no time to remove it.
Mine was Euro 3 as for the import certificate but then dealer installed Euro4 type fuel high pressure pump (a few ones - for the warranty and recall issues Confused ) and I am not sure that the certificate was correct for my exact D3. Might be it was born as Euro 4. Or might be it is Euro 3 in the mind but with Euro4 heart. 8) Its a secret of the dealer.

Sorry to retrieve this old thread, but I have an early 07 car with 7A VIN, but without catalytic converters, so Euro3 probably. Is there a chance that blanking will work?

if it's an euro 3 blanking is possible without any software patch
if it's an euro 4 blanking will be possible applying the appropriate software patch
there are site sponsors on here doing this patch as part of a remap. Mine is an euro 4 and it's blanked.
Thumbs Up
F.
