I have just parted with a 2006 Disco 3 HSE with 70,000 miles on the clock - it was a company car and the lease expired - and have exchanged for a D4 . Only just run in with that mileage. However around this time there are the first niggles, my park sensors had become unreliable, rear door linkeage broke, so it is worth doing a thorough check - state of tires, when replaced/ probably on second set.. when last service was conducted and what was done, this can set you back another several k at least if you need to do.

It's from someone who sources cars. He's been recommended to me by a friend who has had two range rovers and an aston from him. He will sell me a Land Rover warranty or similar which I'll take and says that he does a full service before sale. It's also the car he's driving around in at the moment and has been for a few months.

just to give you heads up.......be careful about brokers at this end of the market price. Who extactly is the broker working for, you or the seller of the vehicle? Is the broker being paid a fee by you or is he adding it on the price of the vehicle prior to your purchase and being recompensed by the dealership/seller? Who do you go back to if it goes wrong a few months down the road?
as much as this chap might be a very pleasant person, my honest advice would be to buy your own and negotiate with the seller directly. You're not spending super car money and for peace of mind you could get the AA/RAC to do an independent inspection on any vehicle even if you're not a member and even if its a garage (whether LR or not) or private seller for that extra assurance

Hi Olly,
Yeah, I agree. I've just gone down this road. I looked at loads and ended up at an LR franchised dealer (Marshalls Cambridge). Service excellent all round, but paid top money.
If there's the slightest doubt in your mind - don't buy it. There are plenty around (some on this forum, probably a pretty reliable source). Look at lots. Drive at least 5 examples. Drive a newish one (2 yrs say) and a new D4 as benchmark.
A few quid extra now might be well spent... ____

I recently bought mine from a main dealer as I wanted the warranty piece of mind, for the first year at least. I bought a 2006 model which would normally be out of warranty from new but LR put a new 1 year warranty on that covers everything. I broke the key for the locking nuts and they even replaced that! (may aswell of been made of chocolate) I paid £22k for a Nov 2006 TDV6 SE with 42k on the clock with one previous owner, compared to your £19k version I would rather pay the extra £3k any day.
