Axle Stands and Trolley Jack Recommendations
Need to get the D3 on to some stands but looking at my old and rather puny trolley jack and my mates rusty axle stands a visit to the local Machine Mart may be in order. Got my eye on their 3 Tonne pro garage jack (£88) but not sure what stands would suit my D3 and yet be ok for the normal car.
Any recommendations from those in the know?

I have a sealy 3t high lift jack from flea bay, excellent bit of kit.
Just make sure whatever you get has a high enough lift
I must get some new axle stands too

I have a Craftsman 3 ton jack with the jack stands. Have yet to use it on the LR though. Nice kit though.17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca

Agree with Outofyorkhsire, The Clarke CTJ3000G with the GNV adapter IS the way to go.
Don't be tempted by the quick-lift like I was. Its not up to the job. After 2 near misses I took it back and went for the CTJ3000G.
Whilst you can lift the D3 without the adapter it becomes far easier and much safer with it.For details on the next Kielder Safari click visit the Kielder Safari website

Make sure the one you do get has enough height (i.e. high lift as previously stated). On my first attempt of using my old jack, and a little inexperience with the vehicle, I ended up with the NSR wheel off and then the air suspension moving to compensate...... couldn't get the jack any higher, so couldn't get the wheel back on !!!! DOH !!!
Don't ask how I got out of it, wasn't nice....
What setting do most people put the vehicle in for tyre changes ? off road ?
I'm sure the machined jack adapter will make version 1.4.

Can someone let me know the details of the trolley jack adaptor - I have the older Machine mart trolley jack (King brand) looks like the Clark so is probably just re-branded - I cant find any details on the adaptor mentioned.
My existing cup fits a 30mm hole in the jack - I was hoping the adaptor is same fitting ...
cheers
lurkWhy do I have 2 big hands when my D3 maintenance requires small hands and at least three of them ?
Have PM'd you details Cheers Ian
