Spent 2 hours with a Dyson (as you do Whistle ) - still couldn't get all the bits out of the carpets etc. Now SWMBO thinks I've b*ggered her machine.

Going to have to look out for something else, any ideas anyone Confused

Steve

A henry or such like with a long flexible hose and just use the pipe end Smile a crevice tool and a brush tool also work well.

Brush tool for door panels, dash and any panels inside as it picks the dust up and away, the crevice for between and under seats and door pockets and vents, and the normal hose for most of the floor. Works great in my Fattie and the boot is the hardest part. But i tend to stick to a rigid load liner where loads allow or big pieces of old blankets to cover the rest of the interior if the seats are folded down.

The first line of defense is the rubber mats Smile Pull em out shake off and a quick hoover and back in with minimal carpet hoovering and job done.

If really muddy pull them out and do a 2 stage clean. autoglym car shampoo first, then dry off with microfibre, then use the handwash stuff that leaves your hands soft or has some softening stuff in it as it helps keep the dirt off the mats longer Smile Dont use tyre shine or rubber care stuff as they end up slippy and a nightmare!

Whilst its not the machine for the spring clean, I have to confess to buying one of the handheld Dyson vacs for round the house spillages, but it now comes on all the trips as its great in the car for all the crisp biscuit and chocolate droppings that come out of kids, dont leave home without it Thumbs Up

spray it on.....
rub it in....
vac it off...

you can also get a same make stain / dirt proctector...
this I have found to work well on the really silly colour the carpets are in my XK
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Get a wee Henry Hoover for the garage just for yourself, leave swmbo with her Dyson or Miele, the wee Henry sucks like a pro. Whistle

Every D3 / D4 garage needs a Henry and it beats dragging the wife's Dyson out of the house:
