Hi Gents, hope someone can help.
I have had the car for 3 years now and have never been pleased with radio reception. there are places that it has no reception at all.
Never bothered me much, just played CD or IPod.
The other day I noticed that when I have very bad reception, if I turn of ignition to radio plays perfect. Turn on ignition again and reception goes vary bad again.
Tried a search but came up blank. Is this a known problem & is there a fix.
Car has 7 days warranty left, any help appreciated.

Hi
just a thought as I had this, does radio reception vary with use of the rear screen demister? If so then the tiny wires on the rear screen are bust.

If it was low line it would explain it, crap reception comes standard.
Does the reception get better or worse depending on the direction of travel? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Most likely it would be the amplifier, not just one of the antennas but a software update can sometimes be the answer. Ask your dealer. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Just got mine back, & whilst in, supposed to check poor radio reception, especially with HRW, (2nd attempt!) No fault found.
Which is strange, as over the phone on Saturday, the Service Manager said it was strange they didn’t find fault during the service, as it’s a common fault.
But on Monday when rung to advise me my 4 wheel alignment was done & no fault on the radio, & no I was mistaken, it’s not a common problem! The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.
