First service and upgrade - anything to watch out for? |
|
My D3 is booked in for its first (15K) service and the 'big' software upgrade etc. on Monday. While I like the garage they have seemed a trifle muppet like recently (broke several replacement wing mirror glasses and the spare wheel retaining strap).
Is there anything special I should request beforehand or watch out for after the service+? Zambezi Silver SE / Ebony Leather

What software upgrade do I need to ask for when mine is done? Its a Sept 05 build.
Also do I need to ask or will it be done automatically?
Thanks

It should automatic, but you could make sure they are going to carry out the full enhancement program.

You'll get the 'enhancement' program done by the dealer... but better to request its booked for this.
You'll get all your sw updated as well as the compressor, tailgate struts checked and Park Brake cable routing fixed.

I'd just check they'll be carrying out the steps detailed in the vehicle enhancement program. If they give you a blank look quote TSB A034/A036 V5 at them The End

All useful - thanks.
Will this address the manual diesel grand prix or die starts?

Should definitely help. There are specific TSBs relating to such issues but AFAIK they're bundled up in the enhancement anyway The End

Do I correctly remember someone posting to say that the upgrades reduce the roll of the air suspension?

Some say it does, I did not really notice much difference. Some also say it raises the ride height at the rear, again mine was no different. Mine does raise and lower quicker though.
Mine is a very early car, and probably had the software applied a while ago, along with a lot of the other software updates, so the enhancement was not such a big event for me.
