Replaced front brake pads yesterday |
|
Whilst I was swapping wheels over, took a look at the front pads and decided immediate replacement was urgent!
Went down to dealer and pickup a set of front pads and a new sensor wire for £77 in vat
Decided not to replace disks as they were smooth, but they are going to need replacement next time as they are getting thin.
So, thats consistent, 1st set went in at 24k, second set 50k.
Rears were changed at 30k, still got 50% left.

Hmmm a great deal of mine are motorway, but I tow caravans, and generally have a boot full most of the time.
Of course, the auto gearbox must make a difference especially around town.
Some may say I drive too fast and too close

The auto will of course wear them quicker but at twice the rate ???
And yes... I get told the same thing and I bet by the same person in the family tree too

Must have worn my disks out yesterday - M6 - p**s poor weather, fiesta in outside lane stops dead (so it seemed) - praying for 2.5 tons at 85 to stop - she did - just
Luckily guy in mondeo behind me managed to switch into middle lane - must have cacked his pants as he flicked past at about 50
Heart rate slowed to normal about 20 minutes later Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

The brake assist is very good! I had it kick in once, and it sure stops the car very quickly for such a heavy lump. Like you say, not good for the heart though.
