We had a run from Hull up to Richmond in North Yorkshire (and back) to the home of Altberg boot makers. First time we have been both wanted a pair for work, very friendly staff and a great part of the country. The D3 according to it's trip computer managed to get as high as 32.7 mpg I appreciate it was no doubt a little optimistic but still well happy with that best it's ever achieved!
We do usually get between 450 and 500 miles per tank.

Quite happy with my 23 MPG mobile armchair, goes like a rocket ship and gives me a big smile. I also arrive in comfort..... sod economy
Nice comment Neil sod economy Why buy a car when you can buy a Land Rover.....because I'm worth it.

I'm now getting around 450 miles to a tank. The holiday run down to Cornwall stated and average of 32, but once we got there and I reset it we averaged 18 driving up and down the little lanes.
It is nice to sod economy from time to time, but I've found that sitting on the motorway at about 70 is a pretty chilled way of getting from A-B. Wind the clock back a few years and I was the first person to tailgate, scream past and tailgate the next person. I must be getting old!PRH
True you tend to sit back and let the world go by , in comfort of course , I have my chop to charge around London , it's all stop start traffic here , you need to get out of the smoke for that , oop north , 2008 ,hse, it does what it says .

Just been to Cornwall in Discovery.. Longest journey so far..
Took 6 hours to do 400 miles with 2 stops...
£95.00 of fuel from empty to brim full to empty again!!
I work that out at 23mpg!!!
I was sat at about 75 to 80 mph!!!
ALOT I THINK
I did 400 miles a couple of weeks back and got 31 MPG - however at 70 on cruise for most of the time. I have noticed in my Disco once you go about 70 then MPG drops alarmingly.

Actual was 34 or so after good bit around town. No cheating with above pic, like resetting trip at top of long hill.

I just drove from London to Edinburgh with a long bypass along the coastal route near Berwick, reached the hotel with slightly under 1/4 tank full. Total distance covered was 493 miles... Pretty impressive I think, I believe the trip computer said that I was getting 30.1 mpg... But I was stuck at 70mph most of the time...
Thats fantastic!!
Has the motor been re-mapped do you know?
My D3 has not been remapped, although I've been adding a dose of Redex to my tank every time I fill up. I remember gunning it and a LOT of black smoke came out and the mpg has been getting better ever since.
I think it also has to do with driving properly. Ever since coming to a D3 I've had to watch my fuel spend!

I did 30mpg (indicated and checked brim to brim) on a long motorway run when I picked up my TDV6, cruise controlled at 80mph. That was running on Wranglers with 2mm of tread. I put a new set of Grabber AT2s on it and am now at 25mpg (indicated), driving exactly the same. Does that sound right?

I also get 400 km from a tank. That will cost me 93 Euro. So a V8 is cheaper then a TDV6.

You might have got 40MPG if you lost the weight of all that dust
