Insurance quote
Just got insurance quote through for D4 £427.12, does not seem to bad with 7 years NCB, this is for fully comp with protected NCB.
Does these seem resonable and what others are paying.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I can't find anything less than £550 ish - that's two drivers over 40, business use, clean licences, fully comp, parked off road but not garaged. Hire car, protected no claims, legal expenses etc is probably 100 of that.
Note though that cheaper policies tend to exclude more stuff - off road cover for starters! Currently looking at two car policy with Zurich (D4 and 520 tourer) which gives all of the above, plus agreed value (ie cost of a suitable replacement, not the dealer trade in value!), own repairer, vandalism and theft count as non-fault, fully comp driving other cars, loan car to 4k even in the event of theft (a lot of loan cars stop as soon as you receive settlement...). It's coming in about 1290 vs 1080 for both cars atm which doesn't look too bad for the extras - just waiting to see the small print!

I pay more in road tax than I do in insurance. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Had to renew mine last week. Was with Tesco but they wanted £266 which seemed excessive to me, so went on "Go Compare". Their best quote was with Swiftcover.com at about £240, but when I took out the Legal Claims Assistance (have it already through work) and a Couertesy Car (our D3 is a second car really), and bumped the excess up to £500 the quote was £206. That was for me & SWMBO with Business Cover for both of us. I thought that was more realistic so accepted that!

Just re-done my wife's insurance on her A3 2.0 TDI Sline.
She is 25, last year we paid £650 through privilege, no NCB.
This year all her renewal and other quotes have come in at £850+!!
She has just turned 25, so was expecting her to have less insurance then last year.. everything else has remained the same, but 1 years NCB now. Ridiculous.
So i got hunting, and believe it or not, i tried moneysupermarket.com as well as all the other annoying comparison sites and i got it down to £638 through AXA, all the trimmings as before..
Egg were the other cheapest direct insurer, all the rest have gone sky high.. will definitely be shopping around on my Bmw in Jan. Haven't moved away from Directline/Privilege group since 2004...
