Flat Keyfob battery

Does anyone know how to recharge a keyfob battery as mine is totally flat, heard somewhere about taping both keys together does that work ?

If I'm not wrong, the battery is charged when you put the key into the ignition... Maybe you might want to try that?

Yeah I know but I thought it only charged the battery with the engine running and as the battery is flat I cant start it.

If I remember rightly the flat key only needs to be close to the ignition switch not actually plugged in. Though if you dont have another key to start the car in the first place then not sure how youd go about it.

Would it maybe work if you knew someone else with a landrover and got them to take your key with them on a run next time they were out? Dont see how the car will realise its not the actual key for it without being plugged in and would charge it regardless.

Just a suggestion mind, I've no idea if this would work or not.

You can try taping the 2 keys together and drive with them together for a couple of days.
But it's my guess that the battery has died. You can try opening the key and change the battery;
