centre diff lock
hi all
i am newbie to the D3, i want to know is the centre diff lock fitted to all models and if so how do i know when it is engaged. I have a non sat nav model on 2007 model XS

Yes it is fitted to all models. As far as knowing if it's engaged, unless you have the 4x4 info screen you can't know if it's engaged. It's all done automatically. Don't worry though, the D3 does an excellent job of engaging it when it needs it.

yep, the centre one is fitted to all models but the rear one was an optional extra

How do you tell if you have the rear one?I assume it will show up as a padlock on the 4x4 info regardless of if its fitted.
I havent looked underneath mine to check!

if you have the 4x4 info display you should see it locking and unlocking when needed .... otherwise I think its a case of going underneath and having a look if the bits are on the rear diff !

All Disco 3's have the CDL. Most don't have the RDL, but if you have a full size alloy spare, you usually have it.17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca

DG - I think both the e-diff and proper spare may have been part of some heavy duty rufty-tufty off-road pack in the US 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

You should just be happy with having a CDL in your D3.

I think there is only one real check you can do to know for sure that you have a rear diff lock.
You have to look above the rear axle, if you see this you have a RDL

My head is big big to see it so clear for real so I just took a picture thats much easier.
All G4's have a RDL most off the LRDE D3's have a RDL and very few of the privately bought D3's have a RDL.Roel

Even the bottom of the range " S " model here, came with the
RDL as STD equipment.D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.
