« flinty, mine has shown a P0299 fault code recently (Low Turbo/Supercharger Boost Pressure). I did have the same code last September but it went. I'm sure Disco_Mikey said if it's the turbo there will be another two turbo fault codes listed (can't remember off the top of my head which ones) but P0299 could also be caused by a nacked fuel filter. Found them: P0132 and/or P0234 3

It's what happened to mine a while back, turning off n on cleared it for a few weeks, but eventually you will get no joy. It's not the turbo unit itself, that's not gonna cause any harm, it's the variable vanes that are stuck.....

Exactly the same symptoms as mine even to the day
Onlyu difference is the 'engine fault' has only happened once and that was 10 days before the total shut down. For details on the next Kielder Safari click visit the Kielder Safari website

Thanks, what did you end up changing then ? the whole turbo unit itself ?
If so did they change it from below of lifted it all up ?

The car is still in being diagnosed.
Whilst the car faults say turbo the total shutdown on Friday is confusing the matter plus there are none of the normal plumes of black smoke that are common with a Turbo failure. Although that doesn't mean to say its not on its way out.
I post my fault codes in a few mins when Team Valley LR call me back but ISTR that they sound much like your last 4.For details on the next Kielder Safari click visit the Kielder Safari website

Complete turbo unit I am afraid, and mine was a body off experience....mine was the 1st the dealer had done so did it by the old recommendations, now it's through the tight access in the wheel arch.

As MacLeod says it can be done now without taking the body off (I asked that question on Saturday) although its a tight squeeze. I never asked about where the access point was so that is good to know.

You won't get signs of turbo failure/variable vane failure from the exhaust I am afraid.....they just stick open or closed causing the D3 into limp mode "engine system fault", and power loss....that's the only signs to those that cannot read the codes.

Thank you lads.
Do you know of any "how do" here or elsewhere on how to change it from the wheel arch ?
anything you'd know of on the dark side ? (RRS must have the same matter, right)
Turbos on ebay for 450£ sound ok, do you remember how much LR would charge for part and labour going through the arch ?l=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l

I will ask the question to my dealer and get a price for you - it will act as a guide.
As far as how to do it - PM CamelRock (Ian). I know he changed his a few months ago. He may have some tips and advise.
