vdo dayton
hi all,
does anybody know if a VDO DAYTON DVD-rom will work in the factory installed navigation system of the LR3?
Are some changes needed?
Thanks

I don't see how it could work...
Would you ask if a Mac software would run under windows ? That is a bit of the same problem here...Georgia On My Mind...

VDO Dayton claims on the website that their CD-roms and DVD-roms will work with Land rover disco depending on the production year
They do not mention disco I, II or III
I have no idea how the data are formatted but I think the comparison between apple and microsoft does not need to be very illustrative.

I would suggest that you contact VDO Dayton to get a definite answer. From their website, I found this contact link.

Strange enough, the belgian division of daytone did not know the answer. "We are an aftermarket suplier".
A lazy employee not doing enough effort to ind out more info about the products that they are selling. Typical.
I guess I might be more successful in Dayton UK - there will be more LR running in the UK....

Easiest solution, go to a VDO Dayton dealer... Pop the NAVTEQ CD out and insert the VDO one in... Try it out... The dealer will probably agree if there is a sale coming.
But frankly I would be surprised...
Even though the data is produced by Navteq, the system in the Disco III is from Denso...Georgia On My Mind...

As an add-on, the data from VDO seems to be on CD instead of DVD...Georgia On My Mind...
