Upgrade Bulbs for Main Beam and Cornering Lights
I have been asked quite a lot recently for an upgrade bulb to get more light and less yellow from the main beam and the cornering lights
The Ring XenonMax H7 for main beam and ABD Extreme white for the Cornering Lights I have been told by my partner are the ones to go for.
I will post some before and after pics up later when i have done a live test

Hi All,
I have the ADB Extreme white for the cornering lights. While there is some improvement over the standard halogen bulbs used, don't expect too much. I find that they still don't quite match the colour of the xenons and the output is similar to the standard bulbs.
I guess that for a real upgrade you will have to go for xenon after markets, but I'm not sure this can be done since the cornering lights seem to fade in and out. Probably the balasts for the xenon don't allow for this dimming effect. Maybe we need to try the PIAA super bright / white bulbs?
Regards, Paul

I have updated both dipped and main to the Ring XenonMax H7 and can concur with Ian. The colour is slightly whiter and clearer, more noticeable on the road for me, although no where near as white as the side light extreme white bulbs I have in.
For non-Xenon lights I'm happy and the increased brightness is for me, very noticeable on some of the moorland roads.
Hope this helps...
Darren.

All sounds great... I'm lost though...
I've got Bi-Xenons. Which bulbs should I go for to get a better beam from my halogens that also come on when on full beam please?2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

Hi John,
no need to upgrade the xenons, they're good as they are. The mirror in those flips when you switch to high beam and projects the full xenon beam ahead. Very decent output and throw in my opinion.
You can upgrade the separate high beam halogen H7 bulbs by installing the Philips Xtreme +80% bulbs or the Ring Xenon Max 100% (not xenon HID!), both of which have received positive recommendations by forum members and Ian from HIDS4U.
Myself I have gone for the Philips ones, matter of personal taste and brand loyalty. I have always found Philips bulbs to be top quality! Heard a few complaints that the Ring bulbs fail more quickly that the Philips ones.
Hope this helps, regards, Paul

Thanks Paul - that's just what I was after. Wasn't after replacing the Xenons, but just after the separate high beam as you suggest. Many thanks for the tip!2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +
