Shiny leather !!
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions as to how to deal with leather that's gone shiny with use.
My 56 plate D3 has 86'000 miles on the clock and some of the leather bits are shiny and slippery, in particular - the drivers seat base and armrest, steering wheel too to some extent.
I've been looking out on our favourite auction site for suitable black leather front seats but they seem scarce at the moment so I'm wondering if anyone has a better - and maybe cheaper solution.Clive

Really now boys!
Autoglym interior cleaner straight onto the seats neat, then use a clean, dry cloth and rub hard all over the seats. Next, buff over with a clean, damp cloth job done!
Takes around 5 mins a seat and will give you a "dull" factory fresh look and smell 2015 BMW i3 REX

Sounds good, but just checking.
"Rub hard all over with a DRY cloth"
and
"Buff up with a WET cloth"
Is this right, it's not the other way about ie wet cloth for rubbing and dry cloth for buffing?
Just want to make sure before I go out and try it.

Oddly I think CJM625 is right, the Autoglym product goes on 'dry' and polishes off 'wet'
Even more oddly Aldi were selling a leather cleaner and conditioner in an aerosol designed for doing leather sofas etc
Because it was only a quid or so per can I thought I would try it as my drivers seat was in a bad state when I bought the D3.
Guess what - it was fantastic - much better than some of the expensive stuff specifically designed for vehicles that I have tried before.
I swear by it - great value as well!

Thanks for all the ideas guys.
Not so sure I'm brave enough to try the nail polish remover and I don't really fancy the sandpaper finish , I've tried looking for Mothers leather cleaner but everyone in the UK appears to be out of stock just now
So I guess I'll be trying the Autoglym stuff first, unless I can find some of the other one at my local Aldi.
Thanks again for all the input.Clive

Get yourself the Gliptone twins, use a nail brush to scrub in the cleaner and leave for 10min, remove using a damp warm cloth and follow up with the leather conditioner, will leave your interior looking and smelling like new in no time

The interior cleaner (don't get the foam) is a liquid so a dry clean cloth is required to clean the seat. The damp second cloth removes the interior cleaner residue left over. You can apply protection or feed etc afterwards (i dont) but you need to clean it first. Try a small patch on your leather first - you will be amazed 2015 BMW i3 REX
