Heater blower working intermitently
Recently the heater blower has started acting funny, i 've got a 2005 disco3 with the basic heater controls. Everything works fine for about 15 mins then the fan will stop blowing air, all the other controls work on the panel, i can hear the vents changing postition and the econ and recirculation light work as per normal. The odd time a key out and restart might get the blowering going again, but mostly its do with out it till i park up and come back an hour later and all works fine till i start using it for awile, anybody had this problem? Possibly a bad speed control knob, but that should have nothing to do with leaving it parked up and it works an hour later! Really got me scratching my head.

Haven't come across this myself, but sounds like a faulty component or maybe a lose wiring loom.
Not much help I know........sounds like a stealer job maybe.

Sounds like it could be a bad connection (dry joint) inside the fan control module, I used to get the same thing on a 3 series Beemer I had a couple of years ago.
I have no idea where the relevant module is on the D3 though.Clive

Faulty Fan Relay possibly ? You could try temporarily swapping, with a similar (unimportant relay) on the engine bay fuse board.

I'll have a poke around later and see what i find, a faulty relay sounds like a likely cause.

The fan relay was loose in the socket. A slight twist of all the legs on the relay did the trick. Been working fine since. Now to tackle the next problem, screaming epb!
