Seriously, you should check for a fuel leak. The HP fuel pump can leak, as can the injector return lines, or the fuel cooler. All these have been reported before, and a high pressure fuel leak can be dangerous.

White smoke could be water - ie coolant, meaning head gasket or worse.

But this is only a could be. I hope its not!

Yep, had similar, lots of steam on startup but not when warmed up. Fixed by replacing an EGR valve thing. Thumbs Up

Don't know re costs as the nice peeps at Tesco paid for it! Whistle :

Does the car run normally at other times? If so dont start looking for expensive answers.Mine does it if left ticking over for a long time or running at low revs as in a traffic jam.I dont know if yours is doing the same but emmits the smoke when the exhaust warms up again when the revs increase after idleing for a while .There is nothing wrong with my engine and is due to water being produced in the CAT and having insufficient temperature to evaporate it
CATs rely on high exhaust temperature to function correctly and the TDV6 is a relatively cool running engine.I have been told it can also be caused by idling which may mean a slightly lower fuel pressure so causing small amounts of unburnt diesel through to the exhaust which obviously then vaporise when the exhaust temperature rises this will typically be white smoke and much of it until it is burnt off again nothing really to worry about.I once left mine idling for 1.5hrs due to my work only to drive off and half a mile up the road have a total smoke screen behind me.
