Non-Heated Steering Wheel to Heated Steering Wheel?

Sooo I'm going to be migrating to Upstate New York by the end of August for College, where in the winter the temps frequently are going to drop below 0 degrees F and was curious if it was possible to put a heated steering wheel in instead of the non-heated i have now that the leather (at about the 12 o' clock position) has started to crack. So i decided that if i'm going to replace it, why not upgrade? if its possible that is.

I've searched around and couldn't find any helpful threads on the various forums, but maybe i'm inept and missed something

Thanks in advance guys

Very possible, all you need is the wheel, new clockspring/rotary coupler, and the switchpack on the left side of the steering wheel. Very nice Mr. Green

Have a look in my gallery, under 10forCash modifications and it shows the old n new. Approx £400 fitted over here.

£400?!? Yikes, since i'm under warranty still maybe i can convince the stealer to replace the original with a heated under warranty and pay the extra cost for the heated wheel over a non-heater + labor + new parts... if the ends up being cheaper than the local indy shop of course.

Convince them to change the clock spring ..thats the part that cost the most Thumbs Up

In the UK now you can only get clocksprings with the extra plug for the heated wheel ...there are none of the old type left

If you were having issues with intermittant switch problems on your steering wheel Whistle your dealer would change the clockspring under warranty Whistle

Oooo Off Topic Milestone for me
