Hi Guys,
I went out in the Father-in-laws D3 today. When we first pulled off, a small amount of water came from the roof lining somewhere and landed on the dashboard/steering colum.
Do you guys know where this may have come from, is there a typical leak in this area?
Thanks in advance.

The drain tubes for the sunroof could be blocked? Do a search and you fill find a lot of info. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Surely it is the drain tubes. I just had the same experience for the third time. Now every month or so I shoot a blast of canned air down the the drains (located in the front corners of the sunroof tray. Hard to see so use a torch to find them. The straw on the can fits right down them). There are also two blue nipple things toward the front centre of the tray. I believe these to be breather tubes (could be off on that) but keep them free of debris as well.
During the winter I pulled out of my parking space at work and water poured down on the n/s/f seat. I'm very happy nobody was using it at the time. 2000 Discovery 2 Kent Green (totaled) R.I.P.

I have it on very good authority (someone who works at the plant) that the delay in the release of the new Jaguar XJ was because of sunroof problems, both at speed and the water issue.
Just what I heard but the chap who told me has een there 15 years and is v reliable.

Discovery's have been leaking since conception, so why break from the norm?
There is a TSB on water ingress into the Disco3. See if any one has a copy, or check the GTR/TOPIx if you have a subscription. It is LTB00217 and outlines a series of possible routes for water to get into the vehicle.
TBH, it's about time some one at JLR started shouting about this problem, so good on them holding back.

If you snip off the one way valve at the bottttom it can help to stop it happening again. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
