cant get in the boot of my disco 3

i cant open the top part of the boot it looks like its not shut 100% i can hear it trying to unlock but it just wont open any ideas please

Most likely the handle; I dealt with exactly the same problem last week.

Follow the advice for the two-buttom emergency release (make sure the second person gives the tailgate a decent tug), get a new unit for £50 and it's an easy DIY replacement provides the screws aren't rusted in. You'll need a half decent socket set to access the recessed bolts in the tailgate once you get the trim prised away (it doesn't have to be completely removed if you're careful). I'm a hapless amateur but this job was within my capability Thumbs Up ...

Had this exact problem, for me a good whack on the plastic trim above the release catch sorted it out and let the handle back down. As a short term solution it works but your hand starts to hurt after a while Rolling Eyes
