Not sure if this is in right place.

Just read article about bannnig advert by Asda interesting quote at bottom,

The Advertising Standards Authority upheld the complaint, pointing out that legislation allows consumers up to six years to bring an action for breach of contract.

6 years is the standard cutoff point for bringing civil claims in the court under the Statute of Limitations. Basically you have 6 years from when you became aware of a problem to go to court. If you don't do it in 6 years you can't sue (generally). That's why you need to keep bank statements, tax returns, contracts etc for 6 years as that is the maximum (in theory!) they can go back.

Its not the same as having a 6 year warranty on your car.
