Brake Pads Rear EBC Red Stuff

As far as I can tell , this looks a good price - almost half what I paid for front green stuff pads.

£26.5 delivered Shocked

If they are wrong Embarassed (I shall fit them next week when they get to me) - please excuse my enthusiasm - but this is the same price as mintec AM types as far I can find.

Why do I have 2 big hands when my D3 maintenance requires small hands and at least three of them ?

I fitted e.b.c Red Stuff brake pads to my Subaru impreza, on disk which had done 30,000 miles the disks were in good condition, but I had to replace the disks after 1,500 miles as they had wore out,
I was told if you fit these pads you have to fit new disks as well.

Shocked Thanks for the advise / comment Cliveaff

Confused Now I thought that - no such thing as a good deal etc etc. I did question the 'guy on the phone Mr. Green ' who replied with a predictable - 'yes no problem fitting these to your existing part worn discs - you don't need to change the discs if they look ok Mr. Green etc etc...' which strictly speaking is not miss leading ... much... Whistle !

My discs have about 1mm of material left (60 - 70 % worn) before I reach the 17mm min' so I may change them when I do the pads, but delay the pad change for a few more months and get wet in the winter rain when I do them ! the pads are down to 4 mm so not too long left in them. Rolling Eyes

Regards

When you change your disks, put these pads on they are excellent, the stopping power was phenomenal, with these pads on new disks.

What was the disk wear like with the pads ? excessive or not noticeably different ?
I would be looking at upgraded discs such as the Terrarfirm vented and grooved ...

The disk wear is normal, with new disks and pads.
If you put the Red stuff pads on old disks, if they are warped they grind down the high spots, then they will soon wear out.

I put these on as well with vented discs, there excellent, the mechanic that fitted them says there good quality and the pads arn't too hard that they wear the discs quickly!

Cheers
