Just picked up a D4 with 10k on the clock.
I know that the Start/Stop is a real pain, but I don't think mine is working?
Over 500 miles its only worked twice, lots of start/stop, engine hot etc.
Anybody else had an issue?
Tnx.

Is your battery fully charged? Mine tends not to work when the battery is low Cheers Ian

Mine doesn't always stop when the car is standstill. Depends on electrical demand it seems. Rarely works when air con is on.

Mine works brilliantly it's probably helped by the miles that I do, keeping the battery properly charged. If you find out what your car has done to itself to stop it from working - do tell. There's a few of us on here who'd quite like to know how to stop it from working! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

mine stopped working a while ago but as many i suspect is due to short bursty voyages and not fully charged battery and TBH not missing that at all
just keep on rolling

Mine used to stop working quite often if the battery was low-ish.
Then I took it in for its first service and got it back with the stop start not working at all. I've left it like that. Not missed

I like the idea of it and most of the time it works well, it's just a bit too keen to cut in. What did it for me was when passing another car in a country lane (it's Cornwall) and the other driver was being a bit of a g*t. To stop him from hitting me, while I was waiting in the passing place, I had to do a very quick bit of emergency work with the steering wheel. The car simply decided to switch itself off mid maneuver and lost me the power steering at a critical point for just long enough to be heart stopping! 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Hi Russell
Couple of things that may be of use. I noted the stop start on my car today. Even after driving 5 mins with full engine temp nowhere near achieved the car did stop/start.
I also noticed under Topix an activity stream doc entitled:
Auto start/stop System Inoperative
Reference is LTB00510v2
I can't open that doc but if someone on here can it might help you.
Cheers
Gary Gary

...... And today it didn't come on at all even when engine temp was up and air com was off and no other electrical system on. The avg MPG was low compared to my usual so I think perhaps it was regenerating the DPF.
Cheers Gary

Well just been to Glasgow and back today, a round trip of 300 miles, which I would have thought would top the battery up but S/S still not working. Cheers Ian
