Hi bigjocky
I have the D3 com from the factory, the same. I was told that a few things have been done to them so a convertion is not possible. eg - seat belt mounts have been welded closed etc etc.
I have never had reason to check and van is now all linned so cant tell.
I would check with landrover about this. Hope this helps.

Have a D3 conversion and they had sheared all the heads off the bolts so as to make it harder to re-convert. But just got a few new drills and got them drilled out the re-tapped.
You will need the floor plate that runs across the rear of seats to hold them in place if you get seats out of a 7 seater, may not if out of a 5 seater, Nick @ Yeovil LR can help you out there.
Yes big tax difference, road & company car.

I have a D4 commercial on order, there the same layout as the D3 in the back.
If you fit a Scottseat rear seat there classed as temporary so don't affect the tax. If you fit original LR seats then it's no longer classed as commercial.

So are you saying I could buy a Disco commercial on my company, install these rear seats, and still only pay benefit in kind based on £3000 gross?

Yes...
Plus fuel BIK of £550 per year.
Scotseats retain the tax benefit - my understanding that proper Discovery seats from that well known internet auction house would not comply as they are deemed to be 'permanent'
Also, bear in mind that the commercial has the rear door windows blanked out so any back seat use is really likely to be restricted to the odd school run unless you are really cruel!

I'd been wondering that... it wasn't me that was doing the vids!
Will chase later via PM as I think I know who was going to pull it all together...
