Damn Heath Robinson Tool Kit
Awoke this morning to find a full flat on the D3, no problem i thought, get the spare out, get the toolkit (never been used), put the tool on to undo the nuts, and bang it shears in half, its not surprising looking at the cheap alloy they have used.
Now waiting for landrover assist
good job i am not in the middle of a field etc etc, why oh why do they use such a cheap part!!!

Bin the PoS LR one and get a proper wheel wrench/bar, much better and safer. They fit the OEM one cause they are cheap!
Use these, never had problem dispite dealer putting the wheel nuts on as tight as he could (now check wheel nuts before driving off at dealer and if tight go back in and say "Oi, you've done it again!!"
The one with car is up to the job of removing correctly torqued wheelnuts. It can't cope with ones that have been tightened by your average Fukwitt Krapp Fitt fitter armed with an air-powered wrench set to tighten to 500 Nm instead of a proper torque wrench set to the 130 Nm that our nuts should be torqued to
I'm surprised that they don't get more than a few sheared off studs.Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

THe average Impact gun KF use aint capable of 500nm but hear what you say

As long as your nuts are not to tight, the OEM is fine for puncture change.

I had the handle shear at the 2 rivets. Totally agree it was a pile of junk and I think very poor of LR to supply with what is an expensive vehicle such a poor quality cheap wrench.
Basically it is not fit for purpose.
I see some say that it is , if the wheelnuts are properly torqued. That may well be the case but I still think it is not fit for purpose as the average fitter will over tighten and LR know this. And the cost of supplying a proper wrench - that Draper one is £5 retail - say £2.00 wholesale . Take off the cost of the OEM one ( say 20p ? ) and it is not a lot compared to the cost of Land Rover Assist and general frustration and annoyance.
Also I binned the locking wheelnuts as they are similarly rubbish .
