Argh!! what a day,
Guys am i doing any harm?
Today, this morning actually 1/2 asleep,i went to BP and put 14 litres of ultimate unleaded into my already 1/2 full tank of Diesel.
I usually fill up with "Ultimate" Diesel, but this morning just saw the "Ultimate" word and stuck the nozzle in!!!!!realised, quickly pulled nozzle out, went and paid, and slowly drove out.
D3 drives ok,got about 1 mile away came across another garage, pulled in filled tank to brim with Diesel, carried on my day, done over 100 miles, drives ok, seems ok.
Am i doing and damage? AA website says if its a small amount it should not harm the engine or any components and when the needle drops keep topping up with Diesel-all will be ok!
HELP

Hi it is not advised to drive with petrol diesel mix as the petrol thins the diesel, and can damage the hp pump, and lines, they can detonate the petrol in the lines if mix is high enough.
but as you have been driving around all day i would top up once more with diesel and add 2 lots of forte diesel conditioner, this works as a cleaner and lubricant.
or more preferable drain the system and refill with clean diesel.

chuck it full of engine cleaner - there's a trade only one I can't remember the name of (someone on hear will know) and keep putting it in. Stuff like Redex etc from Halfords
If the petrol stays in the system it will clean the lubricating bit of diesel off the pumps etc. Tony

Hobgoblin
on a different matter (obviously hope the diesel/petrol experiment works for the best of course) just had a sticky beak at your gallery and have to say what a ripper combination your latest setup is - subtle but purposeful - nice work.
