I asked this same question from my dealer, got quite an honest answer.................They get a Rebated discount annually on LR Vehicle turnover.
Seems a genuine answer I guess

They make their mega bucks on the servicing etc
example, I have been quoted:-
EGR valve x2 £600
Cambelt and diesel pump belt £950
Brake pads and disc (per wheel) £150
EPB recalibrate and adjust inc IDS DTC interrogate and clear £320
Auto double flush £350 Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k
previous vehicles:
04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)
52 X-Trail 2.2 SVE
various euro boxes !

I have been told by a friend who owns a business and has 8 LRs so is now a "fleet customer"........I dont think it would be right to divulge the exact figure but it is a hell of a lot

I am told they get 10% plus various retrospective discounts and marketing support
Corporate clients are being offered 6% discount at the moment. Current:

Impossible to work on 10% with their overheads.
That is a stock answer for all punters, i believe it's nearer 30/40%

it all depends on a points type system. ie my dealer would have to spend £250k to change their showroom to comply with LR branding. they cant afford to do that so dont get as many points which means they get less discount. Duncan

I'm reminded of a story I heard on the AMOC about a U.S. film star, possibly Rock Hudson, visiting the Aston factory in the
60s with David Brown, the then owner of the company.

Brilliant! 30-40%..... a fantastic assumption!
I am fairly sure that the motor industry as a whole is still trying to break through the 2% profit against turnover mark. That isn't a concept that many Bank Managers would support!!
