Factory Nav System, can it be ADDED?
Have now realized the price would have been cheap in order to maintain matrimonial harmony. Can it be added by the dealer?was 00 D2 > then 04 D2 > now 05 LR3

I don't think so. I use TomTom 700 simple plug and play with mobile phone integration. It is brand new, with voice and has full USA mapping. Can take it to any other car also, that is if you cannot get SatNav fitted by LR. It costs about £550 or 770$

No. Even if there is chance it could be retrofitted, it would be both cost prohibitive (parts, labor) and "unsupported."
I've seen a few 3rd-party Navigation installs at dealers that aren't too bad.

I've bought a Garmin Quest for £270 on eBay. Same level as detail as the LR system, not touch screen, but you can put it any car and with the right mount, on a bike too. And it speaks directions to you, if you like that kind of thing. Saved me £1500 on extras on my soon-to-be-ordered D3 TDV6 S.

TomTom 700 is brilliant. Even better than the others and with BT telephone integration. I take it in the suitcase and pop it into hire cars etc.

BN,
Taking this back to a more serious note for a second - rare for me I know but now and again I do try - what is the BT phone integration like ?
Does it work really and how does it sound to other callers when your cruising down the motorways of this fine land ?
I use a Jabra BT800 which is a great BT headset. Would love to have sat nav (UK and Europe) along with the phone integration.
Maybe I could have a look see at Rockingham ? Billing will be too hard as our cars will be miles away in some swampy car park.
