OT-2 - too cheap to be good? |
|
Has anyone got experience with the OT-2 product from Innovative Motor Sports?
I am fully aware it is not D3 specific and that like any generic OBDII reader will most likely only read the engine ECU, and that the MSV2 or Nano are far superior , but for my current needs (wants) and budget it seems to be ok... Especially as the WiFi version of ElmCan seems to be out of stock for a few months now...
The benefit is that it sells for £125 including PC software (iPhone App is also free) which is quite a good price I think... Plus it seems it could work with the Rev App as well from DevToaster ==> Guide - Inexpensive AV Modification

I have no clue TBH, all it says on their site is:
Quote:Will it work on my vehicle?
The OT-2 works on over 95% of vehicles manufactured after 1996. Any vehicle manufactured in 1996 or prior utilizes a different On-Board Diagnostic system that is incompatible with the OT-2 device.
...hence the question
From what I read it does pretty much the same job as the Elm unit wiggs reviewed a while ago so though limited I am hoping this will work too...
...unless the D3 is in that 5% ==> Guide - Inexpensive AV Modification
