Well I have finally decided to say goodbye to my Disco 3
and replace it with a Disco 4
although I still have not driven one yet
I decided to place the order based on all of the good feedback on the forum and the fact that the delivery leadtime was soooooooo long. (over 4 months) must be good if they can get FFRR and RRS quicker!
To get a car before the VAT increase I have had to take a dealer pre-order but I was fortunate that it was the colour I wanted, but it had a few bits that I would have ordered given the choice.
Discovery 4 HSE SDV6 in Zermatt Silver
Privacy Glass
IPod lead
Hybrid TV (whatever that is)
20" alloys
Full size spare (not sure what size it will be 19" or 20")
Tow pack
Just got an email from the dealer It's "in Build" so should be here by the end of the month!!
I feel like a child waiting for Christmas to arrive Disco 5, it's not every man's desire, but a connoisseurs choice

I picked up mine on Friday and loving it.
No niggles so far but two automatic options turned off for being not as good as expected or unnecessary (automatic headlamp full beam - its too slow to react on old style headlamps or where light comes from a corner. And mirror dip in reverse. I liked it on my previous car but that was one mirror dip and the mirrors were smaller).
The hybrid tv is your digital and analogue tv (does both so its called hybrid). The signal is better in the disco than my previous car.
The spare should match the size of the other wheels. Otherwise it would be dangerous.
I had to wait 14 weeks and I sold my car back in June. So, I know exactly how you feel.

Turn the mirror dipping funtion back on, stick the car in reverse and adjust the mirrors to dip as you'd like to have them (ie one dipped the other not). Then use the memory function on the seats & the car will remember the positions for when you next put it into reverse
You can, therefore, have just one mirror dipping
You can't make them smaller though........... 14 Disco 4 HSE

Enjoy it, I'm just about to take the plunge and get an order placed. I was told that if I placed an order this week that I would get it before Christmas Maybe what they ment was, i'd get a call at Christmas telling me it would be Febraury or March On a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. Just Found it (I think)..(Yes I have)

Don't take the timescale of mine as an indication. I wanted a D4 commercial with plenty of goodies including a reversing camera which they aren't making until December. I was told that it would then have to go to SV to have the commercial bit done which would result in a mid-Feb delivery. So I chose to wait for a new plate delivery!

If you get a dealer with an available allocated build slot the delivery will be / should be as quoted for the spec you're after. Mine was ordered in May and down for mid September delivery, it's arrived at the dealers and I pick it up on the 16th

Commercials are going through Special Vehicles in Jan - my delivery went from a 'spec change' build in October and then due in Mid-Nov following the change to commercial to 'sometime in January' as they are all done in one batch!
Chris... it sounds like you are going for a standard car, in which case you may get yours before me! We need to talk about your recent PM - are you laning on 2nd Oct?
