A big thank you to Yeovil Land Rover - Service/Repair |
|
A to Jason at Yeovil for turning my car around so quickly after it was brought in by Land Rover assist with a reported turbo actuator fault.
The fault codes were confirmed when the car was plugged in but after resetting everything the techs were unable to replicate the fault despite a number of road tests. After discussing the circumstances at the time of the fault with the Workshop Manager he took the car for one final spin with the words "find a steep, long hill and thrash it" fresh in his ears. Despite abusing it to the best of his ability the fault still wouldn't repeat, which gave me some reassurance that it was "one of those things". Essentially a combination of relatively minor warnings around turbo and fuel pressure parameters seem to have led to the car going into limp-home mode (reduced power but all systems available)
Yeovil wrapped up by installing the latest software release for the car, rumoured to include different trigger parameters for some of the fault codes, and got it back to me on Saturday morning. They also suggested that regardless of whether I get any errors crop up, I drop back in this coming weekend so they can plug the car in and check for any more fault codes.
To my embarrassment I was a little sceptical of the diagnosis at first , but having spent a fair part of the weekend lugging around a fully loaded Sankey and having no repeats, it seems to have done the trick.
Al I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
