Caller display not syncing with address book |
|
I have a Nokia 6300 which syncs fine with the bluetooth kit, displays the phonebook and call registers, etc. However, the incoming calls only show the phone number of the caller, not the name. I've checked my phonebook for duplicates, but I can't see why it's not cross-referencing the numbers with the names.
OH's iphone works fine, so I guess it's something to do with my phone. Has anyone else had this problem?

It will only display the name if the number is stored in the phone as 079xxxxxxxx
If its stored as +4479xxxxxxxx it won't match the name so will just display the number.
I need the numbers in the +44 format as I travel abroad a lot so I stored duplicates in the phone. It works at least.

Thanks for that! I added the non +44 number to one contact, found it didn't work, then found that the car screen can't cope with multiple numbers on one contact (which my phone can). So, added it as another name, and works perfectly!
Bit of a pain, but worth it to know who's calling without having to look at my phone (which kind of defeats the object of the car screen!).

I have mine stored as multiple numbers for the same name, i.e. both 07 and +447 format and it seems to work ok. In the car phone book it lists them as two different entries but the caller id works.
