power steering problem

Hello, have a power steering problem that after i investigate may mean removing the pump.Has anyone done this or have any ideas?I have the front of the engine apart to do the cambelt and I might put this on first and then run the engine to see if I have cured the leak and the problem (which appears to be a common one of the power steering coming and going and being non existent at low revs)
Is it best to purchase belt, idlers etc from main dealer or is there somewhere that supplies same quality?
thanks for any help

Use genuine belt its just not worth the risk and idlers I think are only gen.

Flush the power steering fluid and see if that improves it. Chances are it's still the original fluid!

power steering

started working on it today.on draining the fluid resrvoir, the bottom was full of swarf!
the pump shaft has about 8mm end play and on manually spinning doesn't pump much fluid out,so have begun removing it.
removed all obvious bolts but felt one at the back which doesnt look to easy.start again tommorow.if anyone has any advice on that back bolt it would be a big help
