D3 Manual -Clutch
Been talking to the dealer about smell coming from what I think is clutch . D3 is 06 plate with 56k miles - not been hard used by me but not sure about previous owner.
It has LR extended Warranty but wear not covered - yes if caused by faulty part - Been quoted @£900 to strip check and replace clutch -
It's not bad but dont want to get worse as they quoted about 1500 if flywheel needs done -
Cost seem excessive - Anyone else had a clutch replaced - Dont want to trust to a non LR garage - Know an independant who has done lots of stuff on other LR but if it is a faulty part that caused it then not sure how easy it will be to do a claim via them
Any guidance welcomeTDV6 HSE - Silver

phoned the dealer this morning to discuss with him and they indicated they knew nothing of this TSB - I highlighted the TSB but he had no access to that system -
My VIN fits in with the numbers listed but I get the feeling they will try to put this down to wear & tear -
Any guidance on how to tackle this with the dealer - They are still indicating that I need to authorise the inspection - and if they find nothing no faulty parts then I am liable for replacement - @£900 min
If a part is faulty then it should be covered under extended warranty ( LR )
Surely if there is a recognised issue and a technical service bulletin was issued then they know the parts are not up to the job and should be replaced -TDV6 HSE - Silver

You could try and phone Customer Services and let them know that the(/their) dealership does not seem to have access to the info they need to keep their customers' cars on the road.
If you have the symptoms described in the TSB, are within the VIN range and are still within the warranty period, I don't see why you should possibly be invoiced for investigative work...
Something smells funny here (and it ain't just your clutch ).....you could/should try another dealer 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Getting the D3 back today with the MOT done and serviced -
Having asked for the Cutch issue to be looked at the call I have just taken - is - We have re-calibrated the XY ?? switch - by nothing evident with clutch -
So they plan to do nothing else - My car fits in with the range as described in TSB 308-001 -
Why is it when using the car seriously - I get the smell of clutch - Sure the garage might not recognise this in a quick test drive - i was told if it happens again bring it back - Absolutely not acceptable -
Anyone give me guidance on how to respond - other than me going mental !!TDV6 HSE - Silver

Talk to another dealer and also talk to LR customer service. When I had my D3 clutch went and it was covered by warranty, clutch went again less than 200 miles later, car went to another dealer this time who confirmed that the fly wheel had not been changed first time around and should have been, both covered under warranty.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

The XY calibration will help solve lots of problems (gear display, EPB faults, transmission faults etc) - but only if you have them in the first place...
...it has nothing to do with smelly clutch plates which is obviously a mechanical fault...
Phone LR Customer Services immediately (which in a "I told you so" kind of way) is what you should have done in the first place before letting the dealer loose on the car. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
